One of our highest priorities is information security. We regularly review our security standards and practices to protect against unauthorized access to information. FlightAdventures secures your personal information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. FlightAdventures secures the personally identifiable information you provide on computer servers in a controlled, secure environment, protected from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. Personal information (such as a credit card number) is transmitted to other Web sites through the use of Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encrypted protection.

Privacy is a Shared Responsibility
You trust us to care for your personal information, and you have the right to feel confident that we will responsibly manage your account and other information about you. At the same time, there are things that you can do to help protect your privacy, such as not revealing sensitive information about yourself in public, and protecting your passwords.

Responsible Use of Information is Beneficial
Information is important for meeting your needs and providing consistent service quality and aviation-related content that would interest you. Information is also the source of new ideas. The more we understand about you and your needs, the better we can suggest products, services, content, and create new opportunties for you.

Changes to this Statement
FlightAdventures will occasionally update this Statement of Privacy to reflect company and customer feedback. When FlightAdventures posts changes to this Statement, you will see the word "updated" next to the Privacy Statement. If there are material changes to this Statement or in how FlightAdventures will use your personally identifiable information, FlightAdventures will prominently post such changes prior to implementing the change. FlightAdventures encourages you to periodically review this Statement to be informed of how FlightAdventures is protecting your information.

Collection of your Personal Information
FlightAdventures collects personally identifiable information, such as your e-mail address, name, home or work address or telephone number from your applications, personal visits, through the mail or our web sites, or from third parties, including demographics information, your purchases from other businesses (for example, items purchased and frequency of purchases) and mailing lists. FlightAdventures also collects anonymous demographic information, that is not unique to you, such as your ZIP code, age, gender, preferences, interests and favorites. Information collected at one FlightAdventures Web site may be shared within the FlightAdventures family of Web sites.

FlightAdventures does not associate sensitive data, such as your race, religion, or political affiliations, with personally identifiable information. FlightAdventures takes precautions to segregate any sensitive data you may provide on FlightAdventures sites and services that reference your race, religion, sexual orientation, ethnicity or political affiliations.

Please keep in mind that if you directly disclose personally identifiable information or personally sensitive data through FlightAdventures Chats, FlightAdventures Message Board Forums, or other public online forums, this information may be collected and used by others. Note: FlightAdventures does not read any of your private online communications. Your FlightAdventures private chat conversations, FlightAdventures Instant Messenger messages, and FlightAdventures e-mails are completely confidential.

FlightAdventures encourages you to review the privacy statements of Web sites you choose to link to from FlightAdventures web sites so that you can understand how those Web sites collect, use and share your information. FlightAdventures is not responsible for the privacy statements or other content on Web sites outside of the VPC and FlightAdventures Web sites.

There is also information about your computer hardware and software that is automatically collected by FlightAdventures and may be shared with other Web sites within the FlightAdventures family of web sites. This information can include: your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times and referring Web site addresses. This information is used by FlightAdventures for the operation of the service, to maintain quality of the service, and to provide general statistics regarding use of the FlightAdventures Web sites.

Use of your Personal Information
FlightAdventures Web sites and their operational service partners collect and use your personal information to operate FlightAdventures Web sites and deliver the services you have requested. FlightAdventures sites also use your personally identifiable information to inform you of other products or services available from FlightAdventures and its affiliates. FlightAdventures may also contact you via surveys to conduct research about your opinion of current services or of potential new services that may be offered.

FlightAdventures does not sell, rent or lease its customer lists to third parties. FlightAdventures may, from time to time, contact you on behalf of external business partners about a particular offering that may be of interest to you. In those cases, your unique personally identifiable information (e-mail, name, address, telephone number) is not transferred to the third party. In addition, FlightAdventures may share data with trusted partners to help us perform statistical analysis. All such third parties are prohibited from using your personal information except to provide these services to FlightAdventures, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information.

FlightAdventures keeps track of the Web sites and pages our customers visit within FlightAdventures web sites, in order to determine what FlightAdventures sites and services are the most popular. This data is used to deliver customized content and in some cases advertising within VPC to customers whose behavior indicates that they are interested in a particular subject area.

FlightAdventures Web sites will disclose your personal information, without notice, only if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on FlightAdventures or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of the VPC, a FlightAdventures Web site; and, (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of FlightAdventures, its web sites, or the public.

Use of Cookies
Many of the FlightAdventures Web sites use "cookies" to help you personalize your online experience. A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a Web page server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you.

One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save you time. The purpose of a cookie is to tell the Web server that you have returned to a specific page. For example, if you personalize register with FlightAdventures sites or services, a cookie helps FlightAdventures to recall your specific information on subsequent visits. This simplifies the process of recording your personal information, such as billing addresses, shipping addresses, and so on. When you return to the same FlightAdventures Web site, the information you previously provided can be retrieved, so you can easily use the FlightAdventures features that you customized.

You have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. If you choose to decline cookies, you may not be able to fully experience the interactive features of FlightAdventures services or Web sites you visit.

Use of Web Beacons
FlightAdventures Web pages may contain electronic images known as Web beacons - sometimes called single-pixel gifs - that allow FlightAdventures to count users who have visited those pages and to deliver co-branded services. Web beacons are not used to access your personally identifiable information on the FlightAdventures family of sites and services; they are a technique we use to compile aggregated statistics about FlightAdventures Web site usage.

Web beacons collect only a limited set of information including a cookie number, time and date of a page view, and a description of the page on which the Web beacon resides. FlightAdventures Web pages may also contain Web beacons placed there by our marketing partner, Data Based Marketing, to help FlightAdventures determine the effectiveness of our Internet advertising campaigns.

Use of Third Party Ad Networks
The majority of the online banner advertisements you see on FlightAdventures Web sites are displayed by FlightAdventures.

In addition, FlightAdventures may also allow other companies, called third-party ad servers or ad networks, to display advertisements on FlightAdventures Web sites. To do this, ad networks place a persistent cookie on your computer. Doing this allows the ad network to recognize your computer each time they send you an online advertisement. In this way, ad networks may compile information about where you, or others who are using your computer, saw their advertisements and determine which ads are clicked on. This information allows an ad network to deliver advertisements that they believe will be of most interest to you. FlightAdventures does not have access to or control of the cookies that may be placed by the third-party ad servers or ad networks.

FlightAdventures does not currently maintains relationships with a number of the third-party ad networks. If you want to prevent one of these third-party companies from sending and reading cookies on your computer, you will need to visit each ad network's Web site individually and request that you be removed from its system.
