Of course, I could be wrong. I thought I was wrong once before, but I was mistaken.

First off, I want to say that I really really wish some more people would post on some other topic- I feel like I've been hogging the board with this "flying my Pitts, blah blah blah" business. That said...I'm afraid there's no other shoes to drop. I've only been up in the Pitts a few times, due to the crummy NJ weather we've been having. I definitely need much more landing practice- I made myself nervous a couple of times on my last flight. And as you know, I'm going for spin training next month. This should satisfy my personal pre-solo-acro requirements, so I can mix in some simple aerobatics with the pattern work (I need something else to do when the traffic pattern gets busy!).

No such thing as "hogging the board!" If you have something to say or report, please feel free to do it here. We LOVE hearing about your adventures with the Pitts. For me anyway, it helps satisfy the part of me that would love to do what you're doing <g>. Keep it up!

Today I did my first aerobatic flying in my airplane- woohoo!Between the crappy weather, some maintenance issues, and the NY ADIZ, I had not been able to fly my airplane at all between January and last Sunday (4/20). Finally got up and in the pattern on Sunday, and I did all right (ugly but safe). Then today I snuck out for some more pattern work. I was doing OK, and after four or five circuits I decided to exit the pattern and head a few miles east over the beach. There, I did my first solo acro (and my first acro in my airplane)! It was nothing extreme, just a few aileron rolls and some really bad competition turns, but boy, oh, boy, was it fun. My airplane rolls so schweet!

Man, I can see the grin on your face from here! <g>
Congrats. It's a big step and one I'm sure you'll be tickled about for quite some time.
Please continue to keep us posted on your progress.
