Anyone is heading out to Salinas for the California International Air Show this year?
Some of the performers scheduled include the Red Barons, the Snowbirds, and the Blue Angels.

Double check on that Blue Angels performance. I've recently read reports that the navy has canceled some appearances so the pilots and support crew can go back to Florida and return their homes and HQ to order.

Oceana and Nantucket Island are the only two confirmed cancels so far; but depending on events others could be.
My uncle lives in Pensacola (retired navy), he says its a mess. I understand the Blue's maintenance hangar roof collapsed. That doesn't sound promising.

Hi Guys!
I just confirmed with one of the Salinas coordinators that the Blues will be there next weekend. They're holding a tribute to a the founder of the Blue Angels, Butch Voris, so I'm told that they "almost have to show up no matter what." Whew!

Ben, I've heard through airshow rumours that the Blues are going to cancel Salinas - but it should be a good show even without them. Apparently all of their homes are damaged or destroyed and families displaced...but we'll see what happens.

My apologies for getting back to this late.
The Blues did show up. Everyone flew on Saturday, but the low ceiling cut the show short on Sunday.
