Haven't seen any photos yet, but apparently Ivan did a number on NAS Pensacola, home of the Naval Air Museum, and also home to the Blue Angels. We always visit the museum and try to catch a Blue's practice when we are there (its great, if you are there definitely do it; its also free).
From what I've read it was the outside planes that took the worst beating. The Blues also cancelled at least two upcoming shows to go back and help clean up.
I have an uncle there (retired Navy...); as soon as I can get hold of him I'll give a better report.
Only good news is that the new hurricane Jeanee is looking like it will miss Florida.

Hi DaveWell, we got Jeanne anyway! But so far so good here in St. Augustine and I've talked to friends in Southern Florida and damage has been minimal so far. We'll have to see what it does if it turns around and comes back over to the east coast.
You're right, Pensacola is a mess. Pensacaola Navy Base is almost gone, all of the hangars are Whiting Navy Base are destroyed and lots of people lost their homes. The Museum isn't in bad shape so thankfully it was spared.
We are getting some pretty good gusts here now. I'll go out and drive around a little later (in the Land Rover, of course!), and see what's going on at the beach.
