Ben - I took the demo test and noticed that no matter what answer I put in items 22 - 26 - they were flagged as incorrect. You might want to take a look. BTW, is there a demo test relating to Airspace? Didn't see one.
Thanx,
Vic

Ack! It seems our test has been corrupted somehow. I've repaired those questions and added one of the missing ones off the top of my head. There are still a couple missing. Will add those back in later tonight.
>BTW, is there a
>demo test relating to Airspace? Didn't see one.
It's not up yet. I'll put it up tonight too.
Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks!

Hi Ben, I hate to be a PITA but, where do I find these test questions? I must be missing something.....

If so, for some reason, this list seems to be not interactive on my machine....<]:¬( And this time when I logged on, that list was just a gray blank - no words in it - just a gray panel....

The main VPC page should look like this:
If you don't see the menu at the bottom of the page, I'd venture to guess that you have some corrupted IE files. Because there are too many possibilities to cover when trying to fix IE, my general suggestion in these cases is to just go ahead and reinstall IE. *Most* of the time, this will fix most errors. However, I should also tell you that on a couple of occasions the only way I was able to completely fix IE (after a virus made havoc with things) was to reinstall Windows again and go through IE updates one by one.
Hope this helps.

Hi Jerry:I was talking with Tom just now and we were wondering if you see the UTC Clock on the back wall of the main VPC page?
One thought Tom had was that you may have Java scripting disabled in IE. That would explain why you don't see the menu and why you probably haven't seen the other cool features we have here. However, if you see the clock and don't see the menu, then something is amiss.

Yep - I see the clock and after a "refresh" I can see the menu but it does not appear to be interactive. The only way I can get to another page is by clicking on the "Hot Spots" in the graphic - the couch for "lounge", the file cabinet for "download files", etc. I can access most of what is offered this way but I can't seem to find a hot spot for ACARS or for the Testing program that started all this. Is the Menu supposed to be interactive?
If so, it looks like I need to do more work on getting IE properly installed on my machine

Is anyone else having problems with the lower menu?
>Is the Menu supposed to be interactive?
Absolutely. The buttons should change color when your mouse points at them too.

You might just have a Java problem. I'd try cleaning out IE's temp files. You also might try renaming your Java folder to see if the packages there are corrupted too.

>>Is anyone else having problems with the lower menu?<<Nope, not here. Jerry is TRULY missing out on alot at the VPC. It's not an XP thing either since he's not running it (are you Jer?). Let's get this sorted out ASAP.

I'll definitely have to get this squared away since the things I'm not seeing are some of the things that have my greatest interest. I was waiting for these things to be "activated" and only now found out that the only thing not activated was me . Back to the drawing board... will advise as soon as I have this squared away...Thanks...

****ALL RIGHT!!****After a reinstall of IE 5.5 and a downlaod of Service pack 2 and an installation of a whole bunch of windows update stuff - I can now access all the stuff in the Menu Area!!
Just took two of the tests and had a ball!! Can't wait to try some of the rest of what I've been missing.
Sorry I missed the chat conference last night but had to go to a meeting and got home really late...and was dead tired. Hope things went well and you had a good turnout!

That's ok, we're going to have to try it again. Most of the regulars were there (even then, we were a bit light), however, Vic showed (his first chat) and a good time was had by all, but it wasn't much of a "stress test".

Ben -Thanx, I got them. BTW, I have a copy of the real chart - much easier to deal with .
Another thing - I tried to take a demo of the Radio Test to see how I'd do and when I clicked to score the test I got a msg saying N/A had already completed the test and it couldn't be taken twice. I'm positive I hadn't taken the test - I tried using my name and also as demo. Just FYI.

Yea, we're looking for a util that'll allow users to zoom in and out, or perhaps we'll crop the chart down for each required area for that question. The charts are still a work in progress...

Thanks for the update. I may have toggled the retake feature off when I was mucking around in there. I'll check it. Thanks!

I've uploaded the new self-executable format for the charts (5 megs tho, ouch!). VPC Crew will now be able zoom in and out, and grab the chart to scroll it around. I think you'll find it much easier to use.
If you just want to have a gander at the chart, here's a link to Figure 26 http://www.flightadventures.com/misc/Figure_26.exe
Thanks again for your suggestions and bug hunting.

Ben - Enjoyed my brief foray into the chat arena. Am installing RW.
Issues: The menu buttons work fine for me except they do not change color on mouseover.
I entered the test center to look at the new questions. Exited normally. A little bit later, tried to reenter the test center from the Main Menu - nothing happened. Exited IE5 and tried again - all is well.
Tried this several times and I couldn't reenter the TC in the same session without closing down ie5.
Maybe my system but thought you'd like to know.
Regards,
Vic

Thanks for the bug report. What IE cache setting do you have enabled?

I have my pages set to auto refresh, if that's what you mean. Have cache size set to low (10mb).
FWIW, the test center reentrancy is working fine today.
Still no color change on mouseover BUT the button depresses when clicked.
BTW, I use programs to blockj popup ads and have noticed that on the most sensitive settings they block the NOTAMS and other windows. Might be worth a mention to users in their setup.
TTYL,
