Hi Ben

I thought you would be interested in the present position.

Until Friday, when this machine was converted to WinXP, I was still getting the lockups. Win XP has cured all that and the forum comes on quicker than ever before.

To convert we wiped the C drive and made a completely new install, so there might have been a bug of some sort.

Thanks for the information.

Most of the time when there is a problem, it is a problem on the users system. We've testing VPC on many systems and it's always worked on "clean" systems. Unfortunately, there are way too many things that can go wrong with a browser or OS that the only way to absolutely cure some of these issues sometimes is to do what you've done--a reformat and reinstall of Windows.

Personally, I have to reinstall Windows at least once a year. I used to have to do it more often when I was working with a lot of Beta products, but it's really just a fact of life when using Windows--you have to clean it out sometimes.
