At Jerry's suggestion, we've updated ACARS to pop-up/focus when a message is received. With this enhancement you can now minimize ACARS and it'll pop-up and sound when a message is received.

What is the purpose of this thing - some sort of chat window? I keep getting clicks, and the window pops up occasionally, does this mean someone's trying to talk to me?

It's an instant messenger like ICQ. It'll allow you to see whose online and send them a quick message if you'd like.

It shouldn't pop up unless you have a message (the message will appear). You can send yourself one to test it out.

Hmm, actually I think it may do some weird things if you don't accept the cookie at least once when you log in.

We've received some complaints about the new pop-up feature, so it's been disabled until we come up with a better idea.

OK, we've come up with a compromise--the title bar in ACARS will now change to "Message Alert!" when an incoming message arrives. The new title bar alert will appear in your task bar as well.
