Hi Ben,

is it possible to change the login name?

I have now "ostkamp" and seem to be the only one just using his last name. Therefore "Guido Ostkamp" would be better, but I couldn't find any way to do it in the user profile dialogue.

I can take care of that for ya. Do you want Guido_Ostkamp or GuidoOstkamp? Unfortunately, we can't use spaces in usernames. Send me a (private) email with your preferance and password choice, and I'll get you set up. Once you log in, you can change your password to something else.

ROFLOL! And I thought I was the only one who noticed that <g>. Apparently there's a security problem if spaces are allowed when signing up, so Ben closed that hole (after he created his account ;-)). I don't know the details, but since he's the head cheese around here, he gets a space, and we don't :-)

The problem was a person could create an account with multiple spaces between their first and last names and system would delete the extra spaces making the message look like only one space. After dealing with several impersonators on the Zone and having my identity stolen (a real nightmare) we try and plug any security problems as soon as we find them.

Ahhh, that makes sense. You told me of a security issue, but I never bothered to ask what!
