When you guys practiced formation flying, what speeds would you typically fly?How easy was it to land on a carrier?
Did you have long Cross Country flights? Where would you go?
Thanks!

In T-2's we normally flew formation at around 250 KTS indicated airspeed but since it usually started with a formation take off we began at ZERO!!!Carrier landings are very intense and require alot of practice at the field before you actually trap aboard a carrier. In my carrier I have 1287 carrier landings but I probably have over 6000 practice approches to touch and go's at simulated carrier decks on runways!
Our Cross country flights were normally limeted to around 1000 miles due to fuel and were either flown to move the jet to a new base for training or airways flight training.

Snort,After I left San Diego after our "round the horn" cruise on the Connie, I was a T-2 Ops O, then flew the last T-2C out of Texas. As you know I'm now at Randolph. Do you have your own websight and E-mail address?
