- Gliding Practice! Set throttles at IDLE crossing Southern California Logistics / Victorville and LEAVE THEM THERE until touchdown. Use reverse thrust as a substitute for drouge chutes. You may save the floght at this point for repeat attempts.
- Make 260° right turn after crossing WPT03 to intercept localizer. You may adjust turn radius and or entry point as needed to reach Edwards runway 22. You will need to be well above the ILS's glide slope. If you want to display the route on your GPS, WPT03 is along a line betwen VCV and BORON int.
- You will probably need to wait until the very last moment to lower landing gear and flaps.
- I managed to make the landing by keeping airspeed to vicinity of 160 kts most of the way down. Caution Stalls at approximately 143!
- You may need ded reconing or GPS departing Los Alamitos. It took a while before I picked up VCV (possibly terrain obstructing signal)
- Altitude at WPT03 and distance after that point are approximate.
- Don't forget to reduce fuel load before takeoff. I started with 40%.
