"German translation help?"

Posted by andrewluck on 04-18-03 at 10:52z
I'm looking at the FSBUS documentation documents which are in German at present. I've got most of it but one phrase is causing me problems; relating to UDP network packets:

"Netzwerkpuffer werden zeitgesteuert gesendet".

My translation software gives me the following literal translation:

"Network buffers are time-steered sent".

Which is fine, but, I can't relate that to what I know about UDP. Can anyone enlighten me?

I am German - your translation seems correct to me although I would have
used "time-controlled".

I downloaded the docs to have a close look and it seems all they are
saying is that they send a data block containing all the information
gathered within a 150 ms time interval. In case, no info is collected in
this time, nothing is send, but when something is collected it may
contain several chunks of information (so called Infoblocks) that are
assembled into one data block.

Guido

Thanks for the information. That's a great help.

I've emailed Dirk so hopefully he'll post these on his website eventually.
