May I be the first to congratulate our very own Pete Dowson after being awarded a 'Lifetime Achievement Award' at the AVSIM conference.

He is in good company as the other recipient is Richard Harvey.

www.avsim.com

Pete, many congratulations for a long overdue award honoring the very valuable service you provide to us fellow simmers.

I guess Ray will have to get a bigger now to take you to the Brum show <g,d&r>

Now off to get ready for CalScream 6 !

Hi Emile,

> Congratulations....Pete
> What's next in the planning?

I keep planning to do some flying, but folks keep asking me to do this and that.

I also have a model railway, programmed on an Amiga 500, which I've been promising myself to re-program for my Laptop for two years now. I must really try to stop adding things to these other programs, for a while at least.

Best,

Pete

Hi Pete,

Let me jump into the fray here to pass on my hearty congrats as well. Well deserved, and long overdue. Too bad you weren't at Lake Tahoe to accept the award personally. If you were, we DEFINITELY would have hooked up. It's only about a 3.5 hr drive from here.

Well, come over to the FS Show at the Birmingham Motorcycle Museum in November. I'll *definitely* be there, courtesy Ray P. and his limo <G>. It's only about 1 hour's drive from here, but I'm not allowed!

Best,

Pete

For anyone who programs, that should be encased in plastic and carried in wallet at all times!!

Congratulations Pete, well deserved and I'm sure I speak for us all when I say that FSUIPC is now a cornerstone of the product that is FS - and it's nice that such contribution be recognised in this way.

MS should, of course, send money...!

But if you mean car, I think he's trying to locate a stretch limo that he can afford right now <G>. (He needs a trailer as well, for all the beer he's promising! <G>)

Shoe and hand size are more accurate, according to female friends of mine..

Hi Pete

Many congratulations, Pete, for a long overdue recognition. I once told you you should be in the 'hall of fame'

Ben - Flight Adventures should follow this up with another bar for Pete. Or, if we can't spare a whole bar then at least a crate of his favourite beer :-)

Hi Pete,

<<Make that a barrel, I prefer draught! <G> >>

LOL! I can testify to that!! Listen you chaps, I don't want to worry you but I've heard that Microsoft are bringing out a Beer Drinking Simulator and Pete is the beta team! :-)

Looks like I got that larger car just at the right time although there isn't much room in the boot for barrels :-(

May I add my public congrats Pete. As has been stated on more than one occasion I really don't know what we'd do without your contributions to FS.

Hi Pete

Delighted to hear of your award.

FSUIPC is central to so many simmers it's hard to imagine flying without it now. Your continued improvements to accommodate other products as and when they arrive on the scene (e.g. PIC767) is also such a valuable and appreciated part of the package. Not forgetting, of course, wideview and all the other software packages you've created for our enjoyment.

The citation at avsim says it all.

Many thanks for all your hard work over the years. I can't think of a more deserving recipient.

Looking forward to seeing you again in Brum ...

Hi Paul,

Ah, I've done a few but in fact WidevieW is actually Luciano Napolitano's. Maybe this is a typo for WideFS, which was of course inspired by WidevieW and started off by hanging on it. <G>

> Looking forward to seeing you again in Brum ...

Yes, will be there. The usual suspects, again. <G>
