Thank you! It's an honor I accept with great enjoyment. Helping put the pieces together to build this community has been and will continue to be fun.

Now we have to get Ben to organize the First Annual VPC B & B ( Barbecue & BeerFest) so we all can meet face to face and hoist a cool one!

Oh sure... just set him up for failure. You ever try to manage three bars? The first week after the award, you gotta get the lines blown out for the taps, gotta do inventory, and all that. Then, in between that, you have to put up with all those folks showing up to help you celebrate by hoisting a couple. Then you spend the mornings popping B12 and sinus tablets with the aspirin and praying the tap water isn't cold enough to send blinding waves of pain thru your eyes.

While you are at it, why not just award him the Heismann Trophy and really screw up his life...

A promotion well deserved and a 3rd "bar" is something to envy.

Specially if they threw you out of the first 2 bars you happened to frequent earlier that evening. grin.

I dunno...he lives in Munich ya know <g> Seriously though, Vic has not only helped with the OLR, but also our new flight terminal, chat program, and the new acars we're using right now. Since we can't pay anyone, the least we could do is another put stripe on his shoulder <g>.

seriously, because of my still unsolved medical problems with my liver
caused by the bile duct I am unfortunately not allowed to drink anything
except non-alcoholic stuff, with some very rare exceptions - on some
birthday parties I sometimes allow myself one glass of sparkling wine,
but that's all.

While I was well aware of you having medical problems, I did not know of specifics...until now. I'm curious as to what the docs have to say on your condition. Let us know if you can.

For the last months the work on OLR improvements has been completely on
Vic's side, because all that changes is the graphical user interface,
while the basic retrieve and send mechanism and database handling, which
was implemented in Perl by me, remains the same.

AFAIK Vic has also been involved in many other projects on VPC, so his
third bar is well deserved.
