The Staff and Crew would like to invite you all to the VPC Flight Rally #8.

As you are all no doubt aware that this month is the 1st anniversary of the terrorist atrocity against not only the World Trade Center but against the world in general.

To mark our respect as Flight Simmers this rallies destination will be to KENNEDY INTL - NEW YORK - KJFK on Sunday the 8th September 2002.

Altitude 9 ft
Mag Var 12.9 deg

Listed below are just a few of the many frequencies available. Please look up any others you may require.

ATIS 115.10
Tower 119.10
Approach 123.70

ILS/BC Rwy 13R IMOH 111.35 @ 27 nm Length 14563 ft x 150 ft Wide Approach Course 134 deg

ILS/DME Rwy 22R IJOC 109.50 @ 27 nm Length 11352 ft x 150 ft Wide Approach Course 224 deg

ILS/DME Rwy 4L IHIQ 110.90 @ 27 nm Length 11352 ft x 150 ft Wide Approach Course 44 deg

This area is depicted fairly well in FS98/FS2000/FS2002 and we are all looking forward to as many of you as possible in joining us for this rally. We will also hope to see you in the Pilots Lounge for the usual after flight chat which starts at 20:00 BST.

Have a safe and pleasant flight from where ever your point of departure may be. I would also think it fitting that all aircraft taking part be of 737 and higher (if you wish).

James (CONman) Anderson

Well, if it is heavier than an ultralight some days... On the other hand, I am sure I can find something to make the trip memorable...

G,day James,
I share your feelings re. NY and also agree with the guys that you should go ahead with the Rally.
Unfortunately I cannot make it due to family matters but will be with you in spirit.

BLASPHEMER!! Family before flying? :o ARRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!! You mean you can't blow off the occasional birthday; skip an anniversary from time to time; blow off a funeral just to hear the rumble of P&Ws or GE Turbofans?

Sure, they might leave you, but that just gives you more time to fly without annoying interruptions.

I am not seeing a downside.... :D

In my case, it is usually work. Sadly, while family will just grumble, and then give you socks and underwear for Christmas, the bosses tend to expect you to show up for a shift. Failure to do so, often enough, and it becomes hard to fly because you are passed out at the non-powered computer, in the back of the alley, from lack of food...
