Hi Guys..

Anyone here in the UK use their PC to send SMS texts to their family's mobile phones ?

I'm told that the facility exists, but haven't come across anyone who has used it.

I'm all fingers & thumbs trying to send text on these 'micro' phone keypads, so I'd like to try via my PC.

Hello BillC,
"On the continent" we can use web sites like this one
http://www.reality.be/telecom/sms/

This gives the free possibility to send SMS on Belgian and French service providers using your PC, of course it is NOT possible to receive responses
The same must exist in UK

Maybe one day we'll have the ability to send AND receive...but I suppose then, it will be called email...<g>

Try these couple of sites out, they're free to use, but as Emile said you can't get replies via the PC you can only send;

http://www.breathe.net/services/ - Then click on text messaging

OR

http://sms.lycos.co.uk/mobile/ - Then click on free sms in the left nav bar
