"MSFS full of suprises!"

Several weeks ago I set my default flight to the Caravan Amphibian at a Panamanian airport to cut down on the scenery loading delay for one of the weekly multiplayer flights. I havn't had to change the default startup flight since then. Tonight I joined a multiplayer flight and, as ussual, I found myself in the Caravan in Panama. The sesion host's plane was at Orly (Paris France). I did the CTRL-SHFT-T, to display the host's call name in the 3D window followed by the CTRL-SHFT-F to position my plane behind the host's plane.
After the ussual delay for loading elevations and 3D objects my Caravan was tumbling out of control. This wasn't the mere dive that results from "materializing" at zero airspeed. My plane quickly exceded the airspeed indicators range with no attitude response from the controls. Unable to control my virtual fate, I activated the SHFT-Z to see where I was. My plane was falling from an altitude exceding 95,000 ft! The latatude / longitude indicated I was near the equator at 109 degrees east! I activated an overhead view and zoomed it out, I was over western Borneo!
I didn't have the option to "crash from overstress" option activated, so after a few minutes I was able to gain some attitude control and achieve a horribly overspeed glide (325 kts!). At a reasonable altitutde I was eventually able to assume normal flight speed and find a field with the GPS.

I've run into this too in FS2K2. I'm not sure why it happens. In the beginning I thought it was tied to the weird visible/invisible aircraft syndrome of some players in the flight, but once the proper ports were opened, I'd still encounter the same problem on occasion. My solution? Just use goto airport and skip the CTR + SHFT + F.

Hi Robert/Ben,This is a new one on me and I can't recall seeing it mentioned within the beta group but I'll post it over there shortly.
We are all aware that some folk don't like the acceleration part of FS2002 but unfortunately a lot of folk wanted this and it was added. It basically gives you power after a slew command which in theory you were doing <s>.
I'll let you know what replies I get from Beta Team.

James (CONman) Anderson
