I'm planning to occupy the Vatsim ATC Approach position for Ronaldsway Airport from about 1700Z on Sunday evening. Probably be for a couple of hours.

Things have been a little quiet there for the last week. If you fancy flying somewhere a little different then drop in on me. (Not all at once though please. I'm new to this :-) ).

Hi Andrew

Myself and my flat mate will try and make it, can the runway handle an A319? Our callsigns will be BAW574 & BAW608 respectively

Cheers

You've got 1754 metres to play with (RWY 26/08). If you want a bit more of a challenge then I could give you 03/21 which is a lengthy 1256m with no ILS :-). Charts are available at http://195.217.206.173/uk_aip/pdf/ad/aipad2.htm.

Thanks for the ATC last night Andrew, I was actually in a little bit of a pickle just before I cam under your radar control, I managed to wipe my flightplan from the Airbuse's onboard computer.

The landing was interesting to say the least, Autoland decided to bring me in sideways so had to take manual at 200ft, ram full brakes on, just stopped with about a meter of runway left!!!

Thanks again

Sam

Good to see you there. Sunday was my busiest day yet. If you'd called me a bit sooner I could have got you straight in without the holding pattern to reduce your altitude. I was busy with someone else and didn't notice you. Mind you, sounds like you had your own set of problems :-). Anyway, next you have to get yourself on voice. It's a world of a difference.

When you called that you were backtracking on the runway I zoomed the scope in on you. Must admit I had a laugh :-)

Shortly after I had a guy connect whilst on the threshold of 08 and then takeoff into the path of an aircraft on finals. Had to abort the approach of the incoming and vector it around this guy. He did eventually call me and was suitably apologetic.

What's the default IOM scenery like?

Glad to hear you had alot of business Andrew, I'll be using voice (RW) as soon as I move into my house, out of these Uni Halls of Residence, and away from the the awful Proxy server we have here!

Scenery is pretty good (are there any upgrades available?), although I dont know why auto-land bought me in to the side of the runway and at an angle lol!

Cheers
