"Extra 300L vs F1 Rocket (question for Patti}"

I owned a C180 Skywagon and an RV8 at the same time. When I came to my senses and figured out that I had one too many airplanes I did the sensible thing and sold the RV8. One year later I sold the skywagon because I just wasn't flying it much. It just wasn't much fun anymore after being spoiled by the RV8.

I'm back in the market now and having a hard time deceiding on an F1 Rocket or the Extra 300L. Have you had any experience with either the F1 or the Harmon rocket?

I couldn't do the kind of flying you do. I just like to do some loops, rolls, and hard recreational flying. I live in Salt Lake City so I do a lot of sight seeing flights through the mountains and down the canyons.

The F1 rocket has a higher top end and lower stall speed, both of which appeal to me.

Knowing that I'm not doing extreme arobatics, which one would you recommed? Would the "fun factor" be just about equal considering the type of flying I do?

Thanks

Hi

I've never flown a Harmon Rocket, but I think you'll find that the F1 and the Extra are very different airplanes.

I think you should fly them both then make a list of pros and cons to either one. I'm sure they are both great airplanes, but in my mind you cannot beat the strength and integrity and overall fun factor of an Extra 300L!
