Greetings Tom:> I was suprised to see this change in AerobaticSource.com. While I'm

We understand your cautious outlook. (It's not uncommon for good pilots to err on the side of caution when able.) However, all we ask is you give it a chance.

We have many real pilots here too ranging from private pilots to CFII's and airline captains, to military helo pilots. Also, all of the staff from ASC are making the move. If I read your message correctly, it sounds like you're concerned that we're only about flight sims here. Please rest assured that nothing could be further from the truth. I think once you have a look around you'll find we have more real world aviation info here than most real aviation sites. We just happen to like flight sims and consider them to be great flight training aids as well.
> Also, the message archives of that forum were worth browsing in themselves.
As I mentioned to Rick in another message, it's very unfortunately, but those messages couldn't be imported into our database. However, looking towards the future, our OffLine Reader (OLR) has a side benefit that will keep a searchable message archive of your own from this board. To give you some background on it, our OLR was designed as a replacement for a popular reader used on CompuServe for many years. When we merged with CompuServe's FSFORUM, we needed to develop a replacement for members who were used to using an offline reader.

That has been a concern for all of us as well, but we believe that the ASC community is a strong one and that the bond between its members can withstand a few superficial changes in web page layouts. Beneath it all are the same people, it's just a new look with many new community features added in. Just for a small example, the VPC has chat rooms, voice communications, and an instant messenger. If anything, the VPC facilities will enable the community to bond closer together than was previously possible. Do you think chatting with Patty and others live might be cool?

I'm sorry, but those messages couldn't be imported into our database.

Thank you for the well wishes, Tom. It may help if you think of the VPC as a building where ASC is located. It's only purpose here is to provide the "brick and mortar" if you will, for AerobaticSource.com and neighbor, FlightAdventures.
I hope this helps, Welcome!, and thanks for giving it a chance!
