Greetings Again!
OK, here's something to try:
Please open regedit.exe (you'll need to open it from the Run box if you don't already have it in Accessories:System Tools) and search for "mic" (without the quotes). Be sure that your search Keys, Values, Data, and Match whole strings only boxes are checked.
Regedit should fild the two following entries:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mic\shell\open\command
H:\Program Files\Microsoft Chat\CChat.exe \"%1\"
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\mic\shell\open\command
H:\Program Files\Microsoft Chat\CChat.exe \"%1\"
(Of course the path to CChat.exe would reflect the location on your system, so once you see what your registry has, please verify that CChat is actually in that location.)
If you're having problems with Chat automatically opening, please post to this thread and let us know if you have the above entries in your registry, and whether it points in to the right folder.
Thank you!
Ben
