As suggested I tried from different points within VPC. Basically, signing off from AOL with the Main Door page showing is OK. Anything else is not and causes AOL to lock up. If I navigate into the site and then back all the way out to the Main Door again before signing off from AOL then it works fine, so I guess this is the workaround.

I've only recently started using AOL 7.0 and it seems to have completely taken command of the comms on my machine. Whatever I try to do with other comms programs AOL seems to override them and load itself to establish the comms. This is a pain, and I haven't had time to sort it out yet. So, no sorry, can't tell you what happens with IE5 at this point. Will let you know when I get it sorted. And I believe you're right about AOL and Netscape - AOL took over Netscape didn't they?
