DHamblin Certificates/Ratings/Crew Stations: "Anyone Else Slammed by the Snow and Ice" 02-19-03, 23:41z  Any of you also get slammed by the latest snow and ice?? My son counted 147 ice cicles on the left wing, quite pretty in fact. Well, if the sun comes out and it gets to low 40's maybe it will melt off. "RE: Anyone Else Slammed by the Snow and..." 02-23-03, 19:43z  Greetings Dave: No snow and ice here, but a couple of the guys have flown back east and say that you need to watch how the guys plow the taxiways (following the centerline doesn't guaranty wingtip clearance on airplanes with low wings!). Another one of our members, John Mooney, lives in Alaska and says that he hasn't been flying since July. Of course there's snow out there much of the year, but he says he's grown "tired of pre-heating" his airplane. > I want spring!!!! Next winter it will be in a hangar! This is the most severe winter we have had in the Cincinnati area in about 10 years according to the weather people. Just got 3 more inches last night! Possibly snow on Wednesday as well (its Monday). I just get the plane cleared of ice and then get another load. I'll have to spend a couple hours with my friend/CFI when it does thaw just to get the rust off. I haven't flown since early January!!! I'll have to get on Aero Sports ramp cam and watch St. Augistine airport, at least I can day dream its sunny and warm here!!!! Dave Hamblin (formerly DaveH on old site!) I am not sure if she has the same hangar as the time I was down but if so you can't see around the corner enough to see it; you may catch her passing by (maybe we can convince her to park on the ramp one day).
