"Bad Couple of Weeks..."
10-16-04, 13:58z

This has been a bad couple of weeks for the Airshow community. We have lost two pilots recently.

Rick Babbit was lost a couple weeks ago in Sante Fe New Mexico when his plane went from an inverted spin and crossed over to an upright spin which he was unable to recover from before running out of time and altitude.

This weekend we lost Sean deRosier at Miramar when apparently he had some difficulty coming out of a loop or vertical maneuver.

An unfortunate reminder of the seriousness of the activity.

Our thoughts are with the families.

Dave

It's been really sad to lose these two young men.

You are right, airshow flying is serious business. There is no room for error. I compare it to what it must like to be in combat, and we have to look at it that way.

Patty
