Greetings James:I'm replying to your message here.

The process of creating a flight and joining a flight are very different, so just because you can do one does not necessarily mean you can do both. When you create a flight, no incoming information is sent to your system (IP address). However, when you join a flight, the IP address is sent to your system. If your firewall or what have you block that, well, then you never get that information.
The other possibility is Emile's connection may be via a proxy and not sending the right IP address. Has anyone been able to connect to a flight with Emile hosting? Or have you ever been able to join any flight from the Flight Terminal? (I know you can host them just fine.) If you can't join any flight ever, the problem is on your system or connection (firewall, proxy, configuration, etc.) There are several of us that fly in the Terminal regularly, so we know it works.

If you see no difference, then I guess we did our job properly!
The idea behind the Flight Terminal is to make it easier to connect to multiplayer flights. On most systems, all that's required is clicking a few buttons and you're connected. No looking up IP addresses, no typing, etc..

That's only partially relevant. MP flights require other ports than are used in email and the OLR.

If you don't see any IP address in the launcher, there's your problem. Something is blocking the IP address being passed to the launcher. If the launcher doesn't have the IP address, it can't pass it to your system/Flight Simulator session.

session along with 2 other programmes on networked pc's with no problem.
That's not totally either. If you're on a local network and net connections are treated as different animals firewalls etc..

Again, not totally relevant. Port 80 is usually never blocked by firewalls or virus utils.

You could try it for a test. At least this way you can determine whether the problem is caused by them or not. Once you do, you can then configure your firewall and/or McAfee to open the ports you need. Mike, Vic, or one of the others on a broadband connection can help you with this.

Rgr. Thanks!
by firewalls etc..
